“Plan Week” is THIS Week!

Hi everyone,

Today is the first day of City Tech’s Plan Week (October 31 – November 4), the time to get ready to meet with your advisor to discuss registration and plan next steps in your college careers.

See the attached e-flyer for more details, and definitely do stop by LG18 or V217 to get involved. You can also check out the Faculty Advisors website, where you will find email addresses for scheduling advisement appointments.

Thanks, and happy planning 🙂

Reminder: City Tech Connect Day TODAY during Club Hour (12:45-2:00pm)

Hi everyone, and happy Thursday!

A friendly reminder that this afternoon during Club Hour (12:45pm-2:00pm) City Tech’s Connect Day is happening. You should have already received information about this through the college and have it on your calendar, and I’m hoping you’re planning to attend the sessions. Here is a post on the OpenLab from the OpenLab Team with general information about Connect Day.

I want to encourage everyone who is interested in English and/or Writing as a major to attend the English Department’s Professional and Technical Writing (PTW) session in Namm N601B and via Zoom. The PTW Program is fantastic (I teach in it as well!), as is its director, Professor Jason Ellis, who will be running today’s session. Details for joining that session below:

You’re Invited to Learn About the Professional and Technical Writing Major on Connect Day!

Thursday, Sept. 1 during Club Hour (12:45pm-2:00pm) in Namm N601B and via Zoom

Freshmen, transfer students, current PTW students, and students wanting to learn more are all welcome.

Topics covered:

– What is Professional and Technical Writing?

– What are the degree requirements?

– How to professionalize in the field
