My happiest places in New York City

There really isn’t a favorite place for me in New York. Everything depends on what I do at the moment but there are places that do make me happy to go around and relax such as central park. Going to central park and relaxing takes a lot stress off of me. Whenever I go to places with my family or friends, I have a good time. It doesn’t really matter where we are, it’s just fun to be around people your close with and where ever you go, you’ll have a good time. My favorite place to eat is at spice, the food is amazing but it’s not the happiest place for me. If I really have to choose what’s the happiest place for me in NYC, I’d say home because I’m home almost most part of the day and I have a lot happy moments at home then when I’m outside. Another happy place I love to be at is at time square at night, NYC is the city that never sleeps. There are people always in time square. The city lights are beautiful to look at during night time. It makes me feel as if I’m having a wonderful time and what makes it better is I get to share that experience with the close people in my life. We get to the city by using the subway station, I spend about an hour or so in the train from where I live to get to time square and what makes me happy taking the train is when I can get a seat to take a nap or to listen to music

Experience at City Tech

When I first got accepted to city tech I was really excited and I felt like I was ready for college. The first time I stepped in to city tech was during summer. I had remedial math and it was a boring class. I had to be in the classroom for 3 hours, 4 days a week. Sadly I failed the class because I never did any of my homework. I thought I had to just pass the test in the end of the course but here I am again retaking the class. When fall semester started I was excited to learn about new things and make new friends. My schedule brings a smile to my face because the latest I get out is on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The elevator in city tech comes in handy especially when I’m about to be late for class but most of the time I prefer walking up the stairs to get my morning exercise. my classes don’t stress me out  unless I get homework and decide to do it last minute which causes me to get the writer’s block and I slack on my work. The happiest moment for me in city tech is when I get to leave, that satisfaction feeling I get knowing I’m done for the day

Happiness across the globe

In the town Somerville, the h(app)athon project are creating an app that is suppose to increase happiness of individuals. they started it off by giving surveys to resident to get an idea on what the person likes. After getting to know what the resident like, the app will give resources based on the things the resident likes. This is not a bad idea but the internet is full of things that can make people happy. i’m thinking the app will help residents to find things that they couldn’t and it is something that they would really like.

New York city is not the happiest place to live especially in this economy. there are happy and sad places in new york. based on tweets Most of lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn and queens seem to be the saddest place in new york. people get outrage quickly especially in the city wheres there is traffic everywhere at all time. the happy places in the city are mostly  parks, people go to parks to relax and enjoy them selves.

The secret

Did you know the secret give you anything you want? Money power respect or anything else you desire. The secret is the “law of attraction”. This was written by Rhonda Byrne and her belief is the secret is there without us not knowing what it is till now we realize. The “law of attraction” was written back in B.C and was always used by famous and powerful people. Everything you see is attracted to your eyes. The way the secret works is by your thought. The bad thoughts you have dominantly will keep happening in a different scenario. For example you see someone gambling and that thought is in your mind, later you’ll go gambling because the thought is strongly suggesting you to. The good thoughts that you have dominantly and repeatedly will come to you.  For example you saw a necklace that you want, all the positive thoughts that are going through your head will later make you get the necklace either a little different from the original or as the original. The idea of “the law of attraction” is not accurate to me. it does not work that way. some things happens because of luck. your thoughts can be many things but that doesn’t mean it would come true. if we put our mind into something we want and try hard to achieve it then that is possible but if its something out of the ordinary like to be the president of US most likely that wont be possible.

Mayoral Speech Revision

New York City mayoral candidate Bill De Blasio was giving a speech live from Gowanus, Brooklyn. Bill De Blasio came up on stage thanking people for voting for him and offering them his love and gratitude. Bill De Blasio talks about putting an end to “stop and frisk” because it is looked as racial profiling. He also wants to solve the issue of the “Tale of two cities”. Bill De Blasio wants to move forward and make New York a better place.

New York City mayoral candidate Joe Lhota was giving a speech live from midtown, Manhattan. He was the first person in his family to attend college and he said he will make all New Yorkers gets the opportunity. Joe Lhota wants “stop and frisk” to continue. Crime rate is low but he wants it to be at a rate where it’s safer for the citizens. He wants to support and help businesses to become successful and to improve the education system.

Joe Lhota wants to unite both parties to end the “tale of two cities” but didn’t explain much on how he would. He takes sides with the NYPD and there is nothing wrong with that but it shows that he’s okay with the NYPD taking advantage of citizens because he agrees with the law “stop and frisk”.

In my opinion I believe that Bill De Blasio should win the NYC Mayoral Candidate because he knows what he’s doing and he wants to help the citizens of New York. Joe Lhota has some good points but he cares more about helping businesses and entrepreneurs. Both parties could help the city of New York but BIll De Blasio will be helping the people in need.

Summaries and analysis of NYC Mayoral Candidate Speeches

Summaries:

New York City mayoral candidate Bill De Blasio was giving a speech live from Gowanus, Brooklyn. The speech started with bill De Blasio daughter Chiara giving a short speech of her own. She was thanking the citizens who voted for her dad and also was admired by her father for coming a long way when there were people doubting him. After Chiara gave a short speech, her dad Bill De Blasio came up on stage thanking people for voting for him and offering them his love and gratitude. Bill De Blasio talks about putting an end to “stop and frisk” because it is looked as racial profiling. He also wants to solve the issue of the “Tale of two cities”. New York City mayoral candidate Joe Lhota was giving a speech live from midtown, Manhattan. He started by thanking the people who helped him reach to be where he is but mostly his family stating “These two women have been my foundation, my source of energy and strength and my inspiration. I wouldn’t be standing here without them”. What brought Joe Lhota to victory were “issue, vision, principle, and experience” as he says. He was the first person in his family to attend college and he said he will make all New Yorkers gets the opportunity. Joe Lhota wants “stop and frisk” to continue. Analysis:

Bill De Blasio wants to help the city of New York to become better place. His speech was more developed and his daughter Chiara gave a speech about the way her dad is a hard working person. I think when his daughter gave a speech; it gave Bill De Blasio a better chance of winning NYC Mayoral Candidate. Bill De Blasio wants to help all of New Yorker and I do believe he actually wants to because his speech sounded very convincing. I think bill de Blasio thought on “stop and frisk” is right, NYPD stopping an innocent citizen to frisk them because they look suspicious is wrong.

Joe Lhota wants to unite both parties to end the “tale of two cities” but he didn’t explain how he would and also his speech wasn’t really to help new Yorkers, it was to help the wealthy community to basically become wealthier.
