Throughout the semester, we’ve seen people talking about (for example) education in a variety of different genres. In each of these instances, the author is trying to reach a different audience and they pick the genre that will best speak to that audience. Think about James Baldwin’s speech, or Jamila Lyiscott’s poem. These are all different genres. Why might one write in any of these genres? Who do these genres reach?
In this unit, you’ll be writing about the topic you researched in Unit 2 for an audience of your choosing– so now it’s time to think about what genre you think will best reach your audience!

I want to teach my audience how pain specialist isn’t really so good on healing their patients pain problem. Also how pain specialist just give their patient medicine to take and a few exercise that wouldn’t really help to relieve pain. I don’t really remember the most important thing that I learned in Unit 2 RAB because it be too long. I am trying to reach the pain specialist and the school that they go to because I want them to know what they need to improve. I haven’t really decide on the genre that I would write in because I am still trying to think of a genre that best reach my audience. I intend to get started by giving a few example of how some pain specialist can’t heal their patients pain problem such as back pain or can’t see the problem with their patient X- ray or MRA picture. But I can change my mind if I find it not really a perfect way to communicate with the audience. I am worried about what if I make mistake in my writing or the genre that I might pick in the future. My concerns about finishing this project is what if I still can’t think of a genre that would best reach out to my audience when the due date is up.

To begin with, I am going to be talking about a topic that has been controversial, I will teach my audience about how electric vehicles can save more lives than combustion gasoline vehicles. I have been wanting to talk about this topic for a while, and I think this is my chance and opportunity to talk about this topic. Secondly, the audience i am trying to reach is the young adult in the room, the professor, and mostly combustion engine vehicle lovers, the topic is going to be mostly about them because to make the world sustainable and the earth breath able we must convince them that electric vehicles are the way. Thirdly, the genre I am planning on using to write this topic is going to be primarily persuasive genre, informative genre, this is the techniques I am going to be using to be able to pass my message to my audience in a way that will be convincing and educative to my audience. In addition, to carry out my topic I must come up with a plan. That plan involves presenting my point on a PowerPoint to my audience and using a different vocal variety such as Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. Lastly, my concern about finishing my project is the article and sources, sometimes this tends to be a little more challenging, but with the help of google scholar and the library, I think I will be able to navigate and finish my project.
I chose to talk about how difficult is to afford a living place in new york city for young adults, more specifically, in the Bronx in the last 5 years. This topic is meaningful to me since I want to be more independent, have my own space, and take responsibility for myself. But also, it’s because there are a lot of people that I care about that are having a very bad time at the moment finding a place to stay for an affordable price and in a zone that is convenient to them. So, I would like to tell the audience how this has become a real problem currently and how this is going to affect everybody in the long or short term if we don’t do anything about it right now. Having this purpose in mind, I have to say that even though my audience could be a lot of types of people, I would like to focus on the young adults that are being affected by this problem, since we are the ones that have a voice to say what is happening from our perspective and should be more informed about it in order to communicate it in an effective way. To add, thinking as this is an important topic, I want to make it as formal and serious as it needs to be in order to transmit what I want to transmit. I will do a conventional essay for my research paper because is the most effective way to communicate the importance of this particular problem.
To get started, My plan is to find every possible piece of evidence first because it is the hardest part of the research paper for me. Also, will try to prepare surveys or interviews for young adults in the zone to see what is their point of view on the situation and how important it is for them. Then, I will start to put everything together with my analysis and explanation. Lastly, will draw a conclusion on this topic and if it is a real problem for the community or if it is just a problem for a minimum amount of people. However, there are a lot of things that can go wrong in this research since there isn’t a lot of information about this topic in the zone I chose, so maybe I will need to make some changes in this in order to be able to address the problem. This is something that I am worried about because the time and the place I chose are very specific, but I really want to talk about this because I am really interested in this, and is something that I find problematic.
In the former Unit, there’s one thing that we have known. That is the people who speak different languages would think in different ways. I believe many people who are the same ages as me would have known this very much. I am planning to write about the common problems in languages between young people. My concern for the completion of my project is that my English is not good enough and I may not be able to reach the standard I want to present a good story to the audience. I am planning to do some research first, such as searching for similar articles, I would learn more to open my view for the following steps. By combining those ideas in these articles that I will read, I will easily find my thesis statement and supporting ideas. Second, I will try to remember my experiences and ask my friends about their experiences. Because I think the best supporting details are what we have experienced. The biggest concern is not about my English skills, it is if I could keep the essay stick to the main idea. Because different stories could lead me into different ways, that I would get far from the thesis. But I would pay more attention to it.
I want teach my audiences how to creating a character in their novels and what’s the comment point of impressing characters. My aim of audiences may be writers, students. The genre I’m planning to write is TEDtalk and I think it’s effective because using a way of chat or talk render audiences easier to absorb my point of view, I intend to figure out what’s TED talk for the first step. I’m not worrying about anything yet.

The background of my unit three project is about what has been affecting all individuals for a long time and sometimes it is not being talked about that much. I was interested in the topic of how “Electric cars can change and safe life than combustion gasoline cars” because we need to tackle the disaster which is being caused by combustion gasoline cars, such as air pollution, and carbon monoxide which takes thousands of lives in just a year. There are always purposes for writing a research project, the reason I am writing about this topic is to inform people who have no idea of how dangerous combustion gasoline cars can be. Also, to tell them that there is a way to reduce the danger of the combustion of gasoline cars. I will be directing this information to people who have no idea of what is going on around them, the gasoline car industry, and gasoline car lovers. I am chosen to talk to this audience because they can make things less bad by transitioning to electric cars. I envisioned my piece being shown in the classroom because that is the only place I can share my thought before anything else. I will be appealing to my audience by using Logos and Pathos.
I choose to present my research topic by using the genre of persuasive garner and informative genre. I choose this genre because it will help me project my topic to the audience better and make them understand the concept of my topic. I also choose the genre of persuasive because I am trying to convince combustion gasoline car lovers that electric car is the way to sustainable energy.

I became interested in the topic of pain specialists by having pain problems because I want to help others to stop feeling pain on their back or on their sides. My purpose for making this project is for people that are studying pain management to have better skills so they can help their patient to relieve pain better. The audience I want to direct this information to is pain specialists. I choose pain specialists as my audience because I want them to know what their level of pain management is and how some of their helping methods for relieving pain don’t work that well. I think I will use both pathos and logos. The genre I choose to use is academic essay because I can conclude what I want to say to the audience in a conclusion in an academic essay. Also I would like to teach pain specialists how their medicine and exercise don’t really work on their patients. I have had experiences with taking the pain medicine my doctor gives. At first it works just fine but when I take it the 2 time it doesn’t work because I still can feel the pain. I also have experiences with the exercise my doctor gives me to do. Some of the exercises my pain doctor gives me helps me to relieve pain but the other exercises my pain doctor gives me doesn’t help me to relieve pain instead it makes the pain worse. In the article Pain Specialists Evolution of Patient’s Prognosis During the First Visit Predicts Subsequent Depression and the Affective Dimension of Pain says ” Foster and colleagues found that patient’s pessimism regarding their lower back pain prognosis at baseline was associated with poorer outcome 6 months later; thus it is perceivable that the prognosis given by a physician may have the same negative effects especially if the patient is directly or indirectly aware of this prognosis.” Some pain specialists don’t see what the problem is with their patient for having a pain problem when they see the X- ray or MRA picture that was sent to them by the doctor that helps to take the X-ray and MRA.
