I now understand the usage of the word Locavore because the quote uses it to describe the type of people that is of the latest trend of eating anything that’s grown locally.

Misanthrope

Misanthrope: Noun

Definition: a person who does not like other people

In the article ” The Happiest and Saddest Places in NYC, According to Twitter” by Brian Merchant he states ” I can attest that each is capable of turning the gentlest romantic into a misanthrope.”

Now that I understand the word I know now the proper word to describe myself.

Fallacy

Fallacy: Noun

Definition:  a wrong belief : a false or mistaken idea.

I heard this word while I was in class in professor Davis class. He was teaching the  class different fallacies there is in public speaking.

Now that I understand what a fallacy is I know that while giving a speech you should avoid fallacies which means to avoid giving your audience a mistaken idea.

I heard this word during speech class while discussing a chapter.

I now understand what that using fallacies in your speech would be mistaking your audience.

 

Arbiters

Arbiters – a person who is considered to be an authority on what is good

It’s saying that a good person was going around and was using English worldwide.

Gluttonous

adjective.

Definition: greedy or excessive indulgence.

I came across this word in the reading “The brooklyn Bridge” by Philip Lopate. passage 20, page 267, paragraph #1

I now understand that the person saw the brooklyn bridge with excessive indulgence.

 

Enumerate

transitive verb.

Definition: to specify one after another.

I now understand that the author was explaining how there were numerous mistakes.

Linguists

Linguists – a person who speaks several languages

It’s saying that people who speak different languages know that their are different ways of talking.

 

Omnipresent

Adjective.

Definition: present in all places at all times.

I now understand that the author is explaining how something is present at all times in our imaginations.

Definition: all future generations.
