Reflection on SWEAT

To be honest I went in thinking that a play was going to be boring and I wasn’t going to be interested in it. But then as soon as it began I had a change of heart because it was very dramatic. I was actually amused by it and think that all the actors did a great job. I also found it cool when they would change the scene that everything on the floor would move, change, and shift. The play contributed a lot towards political issues because everything that was being shown the factory kicking the workers out and them all being job less it happens. But I remember a couple of years back a lot of people were getting cut and laid off which caused many people to struggle. The play did a good job in showing the emotion of the people getting laid off.

Reflection

I found it interesting meeting Sarah Schulman because I had never met an author before. Also, I found it cool how she was able to answer every question thrown at her regardless of the question. She was prepared and her talking showed that her life and her experiences had help her write the books she has written. Also, find it amazing that she not just has 18 books published, but also has a movie as well , a documentary i think she said it was on amazon prime. She seems to be a very successful person and is also a Teacher in the Cuny system. I think I can write a pretty interesting book about all the experiences I had growing up it would be very suspenseful and humors and I think it may catch peoples attention and they would be able to relate to it.

Assignment #1

My name is a part of my family and its legacy. I was given the name Carlos because it is my Dad’s name, Then, my middle name Andres is passed down to me from my grandfather. According to google it’s a Spanish baby name which means Manly. This relates to who I am because indeed I am manly. I love my name and I feel this way because its pasted down from important people in my family and I plan on doing the same when I have kids. The research behind my name impacts the understanding of myself because now it explains why I like going to the gym.

To my family, I’m Carlito,
but my name is Carlos

My name would have been Ruddy if it wasn’t for my mom,
she told my Dad that’s not going to be the name of our son

I ended up being a Jr … like father like son, I like the concept of passing down the name, even though it doesn’t sound like much fun

Just because I’m a J.r doesn’t make me lame, It may be basic, and just a regular Dominican name, but I’m not ashamed I love my name
