Photography and Tragedy—When Should You Put Down the Camera?

I believe that photographers should take there photos but also respect the person wishes. If there is a situation and the image is perfect, but making it prefect includes someone you dont have permission to take photo of makes it difficult. Asking the person after the photo may be the best thing to do but it also may be a hard thing to ask depending on the person emotions. You may get away with it in a happy environment photo but if its a sad environment photo you may not want to ask. Emmanuel Dunand said “If he sensed that someone was bothered by the camera, he simply put it down.” I agree with his statement because if someone isn’t in the mood, you should back off because it may lead to something even worst. Like they say a photo can represent 1000 words, you may see it one way but the person you took the photo of might not see it the way you do. Overall, I think getting someones permission is the best thing to do this way theres no regrets on the long run.
