Mexican Art gives face to victims

Mexicans artist gives faces to victims lost to violent crimes such as murder, drug violence, and human rights abuse. The creators of the projected wanted to place a face on to statistic normally presented, they wanted to create a  more personal experience. The idea and concept was inspired from that of other artist such as a famous french photographer known as JR, who created large portrait that was pasted throughout Paris. The purpose of the Portraits were to discourage city residents from committing crimes by introducing to pass victims of similar violence.

I found this article to be very interesting as it took a creative and optimistic approach to preventing time. While I am not sure if this is a truly effective way of stop the violence throughout the city, it never hurts to try. While these portraits might discourage some citizen from committing a crime, I doubt it will truly make a big impact.
