Homework # 3

The photograph of Robert Capa “Death of the loyalist solider” is an example of a photograph that can’t be judged by first glance. In order to understand this photo you must analyze it’s setting, angles and the shadows the photo may carry. When I first glanced at the picture before doing the reading my first instinct was that the photo was staged. The reason I was quick to believe this was because the photo looks as if someone is just posing and waiting for the picture to be taken. You must understand the detail of the this photograph to know if it staged or real. After reading the arguments about the image I think this image isn’t staged. The body posture of the man in the image demonstrates someone who is being shot at. This posture will be hard to stage because of the position you are put in you fall or have great balance. The authenticity of the photo does matter because in order to create the photo the authentic must be demonstrated. The arguments of this photograph are supportive enough to explain why this photograph isn’t stage.

Rosa Luciano # HOMEWORK 2

In the articles of “ How coffee fueled the civil war” and “ Civil war cooking: What the union soldiers ate” addressed the lifestyle of eating that soldiers had at war. The soldiers had a bad meal plan and weren’t feed enough although a meal plan was given to them. I think that they weren’t feed enough food for the job that they had as soldiers. Although I think the soldiers weren’t provided much food I also think that during that time there wasn’t a variety of food to offer as there is now. For the soldiers to be able to survive with short meals that they were provided I find them brave. I wouldn’t been able to survive with the food that was provided to the soldiers because I am use to eating in variety and many choices.

The image above shows a plate of tacos, I wouldn’t be able to live without nachos because I actually eat them weekly. I try new ways to eat them because I really enjoy them although they get messy. When I go out to eat at food places I usually try to get nachos to see how they are served in different places.

This is a cookie dough shake that is served at a popular restaurant called Black Tap. Many of you may be familiar with these shakes because they are all over media. When I first visited this restaurant it was at the beginning of the summer. Although I had gotten a meal from this place and it was really good what had caught my attention the most was the way these shakes were made. I had ordered the cookie dough shake as shown above and just by looking at the shake before tasting it I knew I was going to enjoy it. The top of the shake that include most of its detail had a very soft and moisture taste and feeling. The whip cream on the top had a fluffy texture and the cookie itself is soft. Overall this is a very sweet dessert but is enjoyable to have. I find this shake very exclusive because I never seen one as detailed as this one and I recommend everyone to try it.
