Space Planning

Based on your site analysis, develop a list of spaces, adjacencies, and requirements for each space.

The requirement for each space should include:

  • Who uses the space
  • What is this space used for?
  • Which space(s) are it next to
  • Which type of equipment of furniture are in this space
  • private or public
  • access to street?
  • natural lighting?
  • water supply?
  • ceiling height
  • approximate square footage
  • Other requirements?

Create a chart listing the variety of spaces for your restaurant including the entry for the hostel – creating a lobby and core. Refer to the reference tab for sizes of fire stairs and elevators. Elevators for Hostels should be required a minimum of 2 with a suggestion of 3-4 is better. Two fire stairs are required from each space.

Once the chart is created – a bubble diagram of the space should be done – plans and section.
