An article I found was “https://www.placeofreflection.org/the-design/”. A landscape architect was hired to design a place of reflection meant for a community space. This project called “The place of reflection” won Excellence Award for Landscape Architecture at the Australian Institute for Landscape in 2012. They explain the experience that the place of reflection gives such as, “the sense of entering a special place”, “the symbolic walk – alone or in company – along a path that others have taken before” and “opportunities to pause for reflection or quiet contemplation before gradually entering back into everyday life”. The materials used to build this project were chosen to blend with nature to give a calm quiet vibe. There is even a wheelchair-accessible pathway, with words of inspiration inscribed which provides as said “opportunities for meditative walking” which is something that can be helpful when reflecting. There are also seating areas where can stop “ reflect and absorb natures sights and sounds”.
