Final Project- Tera Cunningham

Topic: Define what you intend to communicate. What would be the intended use?Is it for an advertising campaign, a public service announcement, an editorial piece, a narrative, a design driven study?

My topic is alcohol, preferably Patron Tequila. The intended use would be to make an advertising campaign using the photos I shoot. I could also make an editorial piece which leans more towards my major in graphic design but I wanted to expand and try something different. But I might still make an editorial version just for fun if need be.

Subject Matter: Literally what will you shoot?

I plan to shoot a bottle of patron and a martini glass filled with water. I will have garnishes such as salt, lime, and a shot glass.

Style: What will it look like? How will you use photographic style to communicate emotion and point of view? Find at least one example and include at least one image with your description.

Since its going to be used for advertising purposes its important for the product label to be seen and legible. Only 3 out of 6 will be well lit. But the other 3 I want it to be darker and look more dynamic.

Lighting: how will you light your project?

My project will be back lit with continuous light.

Props: What will you add to the scene to bring out your intended meaning? What purpose will it serve in your portfolio? Do you want to highlight your conceptual thinking, your design sense, your lighting skills?

I will add props so that its more to play around with than just a bottle. The purpose it will serve is to help give me more advertising rather than publications and product branding. I would like to highlight all three because as a designer who needs stock images to make the ads or graphics, I find it great to say hey I took these photos and understood what type of lighting and angle I was going for. Anyone can find a image on google and take it and make something out of it but to say hey I took this made it from scratch is all the more rewarding and makes me more qualified for future jobs.

First shoot

The shoot went welI for the first day . what I think it worked was the shallow depth of field on the subject. What it didn’t was definitely the lighting and the layout of the desserts. The variety of colors make the pictures look more interesting , I think that I’m going to take advantage of it. For the next class, I will bring more props to decorate the plate so it’ll look more professional.

Final Project J Welch

Topic:  My topic is painting with light. I’ve always loved this style of photography, mostly because of the element of randomness. It’s impossible to know exactly how each picture will turn out.

Subject Matter: I’d like to create portraiture and use long exposures to create streaks of light across the frame.

Style: Moody and kinetic. Dark backgrounds and brilliant bursts of light.

Lighting: I think none, except for the colored lights I will use.

Props: Strings of light, battery powered color-changing light.

DRUM_Magazine_Cover 20 years of drumming

For my final project i will be advertising drum products or shooting for a cover on a magazine. I would like to give drumming products a much more interesting look and have them appeal to people who don’t know about drumming or drums. If a go for the magazine cover I want the emotion to be fun and passion. If I shoot the products I want to give some type of mystery. I think I can go with various light setups , I would like to try and shoot myself for the cover since i play drums and can give a much more natural look to the photo.

Final Project- AnaMaria

For the final project I plan on taking provocative dessert photos that I will use in a website that I have about restaurants of NYC. My goal is to make desserts look good as delicious as it tastes. So I guess that the emotion that I want the viewers to feel is desire. I always have felt attracted to this type of food, because it brings automatically a smile on my face; it’s everything about them colors, textures, smells, shapes.

In terms of lighting conditions I am going to use natural light if it’s possible and if not , I probably will use diffuse light with reflectors so it helps bring more definition and clarity to the item or foam board.
I’ll do some shots first ,covering the whole plate from above, 45 degrees and horizontal. Then I am going to use macro lens for details purposes.
I‘m also going to stabilize my camera using a Tripod because I’m planning to have a wide aperture that will help to bring one specific thing in focus in a grouping.
I’ll bring a nice plate, fork and napkin to add to the scene.

Final project

For the final project my goal is to do a fashion photo-shoot for GQ Magazine. It will be basically showing the viewers and giving tips what to wear during the spring season. majority of the photos will be taken with main light to show the spring colors and details of the clothing that the model will be wearing. I’ll be using atleast 5 models to go through with this project. The purpose this project will serve to my portfolio is that I want the clients to see I’m good behind the camera and getting the job done very well.

For my final project, I want to shoot is something related to food in abstract pattern or layout. Items can be produce, fish/meat, spice/flour, noodle etc. It can be for a food magazine, or an advertising. It’s not necessary to look delicious, but it should show the beauty of organic life such as the veins of a leaf or geometric pattern in nature. I want to make it have refreshing feeling so viewers would admire a beauty of what you eat.

final project

for my final project i wanted to either advertise watches or cameras. watches Symbolize Prosperity, Fashion and innovation. and i wanted to show the mystery behind a new line of luxury watches. I’d have a black backdrop with a spotlight on the watch. with the image cropped down to right above the model’s nose. i’d also have a back light to add dramatic  effect.

if i was shooting a camera i would use the plexiglass surface and have a black background have it back lit and spotlit.

final project idea ( Antonio Griffith )

I will shoot portrait of people. I am going to graphically edit statues faces with human face seeing both sides. I am also thinking about doing some who body shot of models and they will be in the same pose as a statue then incorporate them with the statues using certain parts. I will light my subject depending on the light on the statue.  This project will serve to show my photography skills and graphic design skills.
