P.S.11 Queens
One of the best and most memorable things that I had the pleasure of accomplishing during my time at the dental hygiene program was to educate the youth about oral health and how it can lead to further complications if it’s not prevented in time. I had the privilege of visiting the elementary school that I went to as a kid and going into a classroom with my group to teach 5th graders everything they didn’t know about oral health. This project especially hit home for me since I spent most of my childhood at this school and remember it like it was yesterday when I was sitting in those classrooms. To be able to share my knowledge about everything I know and help younger generations become exposed to things they might have not been aware of is a huge goal of mine and with this project I was able to accomplish that.

Head StartÂ
Another one of my greatest accomplishments during the dental hygiene program was participating in Head Start. I was able to go into two different classrooms at 293 Neptune ave Brooklyn, with my classmate and teach Pre-K about oral health and evaluate how much they knew at such a young age. The experience was overwhelmingly wonderful and if I could participate in more activities to educate young children on oral health I would.Â
