Welcome to my E-portfolio! My name is Anita Sabotic and I am in my last semester of the Dental Hygiene program at New York City College of Technology. My responsibilities as a student is to assess patients of all different age groups for oral cancers and diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis. Thoroughly creating treatment plans tailored for each individual patient and then following through to provide that care is a routine that I follow as a student. Scaling using different instruments, preventative care, and educating each patient on oral hygiene care is a crucial role that I provide for my patients. I am eager to use my clinical experiences and knowledge to further help out my community in the workforce!

It all started when I was about 10 years old and going to see my dentist for a filling. From watching my dentist being extremely kind and a true leader to her dental team, to me observing the instruments she was using, it all peaked my interest too soon. The way that my dentist was able to unknowingly inspire me through her hard work ethic and professionalism was what stuck with me as a kid and I knew that dentistry was something I wanted to pursue in the long run. I was that kid that just wasn’t afraid of going to the dentist but rather it was something that I wanted to learn more about.

I am beyond excited to be a dental hygienist very soon and live out my dream of working with patients at a dental office and provide care. The dental hygiene program has taught me everything from patient care to becoming a true professional. With all of my hard work, discipline, passion and knowledge I can see this becoming a career that’ll last a very long time for me. Thank you for taking the time for delving into my journey and my achievements.
