Hi, my name is Angel Louis-Charles, and I’m a senior at City Tech studying Entertainment Technology with a focus on video production. This site showcases my culmination project and serves as a portfolio of my academic and creative growth.
For my culmination, I am serving as both a boom operator and video editor for Blerd City, an exciting event that celebrates Black nerd culture through film, art, and community. My responsibilities include capturing dynamic footage, recording interviews, and editing highlight reels that reflect the spirit and energy of the event. These videos will be used for promotion and archival purposes.
This project is an important step in developing my videography, storytelling, and editing skills. Over the past year, I’ve taken on increasingly challenging video projects, including an internship with Fueza Dance Studio, where I produced short promotional content. That experience taught me how to keep things concise while maintaining impact, even though it had its limitations.
Through Blerd City, I’m pushing myself further, technically and creatively, by telling a richer story and supporting a cultural movement that uplifts underrepresented voices in media. I hope this portfolio reflects my growth and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the media production industry.
