Candid Moments
It’s crazy what a picture can do to a person. An image is a time machine; it will transport you to a memory you might have forgotten. To a moment in your life, you felt light or intense emotions. To a person, you may or may no longer be.
I enjoy capturing these moments because they bring me back to my childhood. My dad took pictures of the family, all in film when I was a little girl. Some of these photos are from a time we lived in Peru and some are from when we moved to the States. Sometimes, the photographs spark the feeling of longing for a place that is a part of me; but I am no longer there. I want to capture these candid moments to share with those around me. It’s fun to see what I took pictures of; once they are developed. The not knowing process creates suspense.

Beautifully said Andrea. 🙂 There’s something magical about film—the waiting, the surprise, the emotion it captures without trying too hard. Love how you’re carrying on what your dad started, and turning it into something personal and timeless. Keep it up!
