Project Description
In this project I was tasked to create a postcard with a quote from my favorite author in the medium of my choice while demonstrating hierarchy.
Reflection
My first draft is an analog collage; I decided to use magazines I’ve acquired throughout the years. In my final piece, I scanned some of the Type that I found dynamic and uploaded them to Photoshop. I edited the Type to obtain a clean aesthetic as I removed any additional background noise. For the background, I used textured paper and lowered the opacity.
It was important for me to play with color. Collaging can be distracting if the pieces are not placed well; it can easily feel chaotic. I tried my best to have fun but also provided a sense of harmony when looking at the postcard.
