ENT 4410 MOULDING ASSIGNMENT

In our first assignment, we had to put moulding on some walls, which was definitely a wake up call to how much work I needed to put into doing things like cutting. At first, I thought measuring up the moulding was a good idea, but after some time, Prof. McCullough said it was better to just measure it up on the wall, so I did that. While I began to make some of the cuts, I realized how rusty I was at it with the amount of time between that day and the last time I was in the shop using those tools, and had to spend some time refiguring out how to use a chop saw. I made some mistakes on which way the long side of the wood went, as well as not cutting the mouding down to make it easier for me to cut. I also messed up on an angled cut, as I was trying to make sure that the angle didn’t cut off any of the long side. Once I was done with the cutting, I had to staple the moulding onto the wall, and I had a mistake where the moulding drifted down when I stapled it, but the rest of it was solid.

Here’s some pictures from the moulding assignment:

As you can see, there is a piece that is slightly tilted down, which was a mistake from stapling
There is a noticeable gap in the top view from my stapling mistake, but the rest of it wasn’t terrible. Also, there is a staple that didn’t go in all the way, which I tried hammering in, but I didn’t want to break the wall. I also tried taking it out, but the wall couldn’t handle that either
