The sixth assignment was creating an abundance of product mockups for the current CAM project. This product centered around embroidery detail on clothing. I sat down with Elizabeth to discuss which imagery should be on which piece of clothing. This conversation was recorded in a video so that I can go back to for future reference. These mockups were requested to be done in the same day. For this assignment I was referred to Printful, which was super helpful in creating mockups. I highly recommend using this for clothing mockups because all you do is upload your design
This assignment was given to me on two different days. To summarize, I was given finalized vectors and color combos to mockup on clothing such sweatshirts, pullover hoodies, t-shirts and caps. The first set of mockups was based on Elizabeth’s instructions via recording. These mockups had to be done right away and finished by the end of the day.
This similar assignment was given to me again by Jade and a similar situation occurred where I had to stop working on a previous assignment and shift gears to creating mockups.
Please keep in mind these aren’t all the mockups I have done. Both of these batches contain 30-50 different mockups.
My fifth assignment was to create art tags. These tags are pretty small in size, and they will be placed on products in the art gallery. I needed to create multiple layouts of one product as an example so that a layout could be approved and therefore executed to other products. So, there’s limited edition prints, fine prints, etc. The main priority was limited edition acrylic prints. The layout had to be approved by Elizabeth on the same day.

My fourth assignment I was given was to create layouts for 24 frames that would be hung up on a designated wall in the new art gallery. These layouts were all based of the updated press kit. I was provided audio recordings as well as videos on which articles Elizabeth really wanted. Jade discussed with me that we would split the layouts and communicate with each other which articles we were working on. The imagery was taken from the press kit. There was a lot of back and forth between both files which I found slowed my working momentum down just a little bit. This assignment took two working days to complete.

From this assignment, I can say that I learned to create different and interesting layouts to look at. Personally, I feel like at first I struggle with placing things down, but as I spend some time, I can start to see a layout forming. However, It’s not a good idea to get too caught in detail as it can slow down your productivity.
My third task was to generate images using AI which as mentioned in my first post, I don’t like using AI. I also had to image trace the generated images aswell. Elizabeth is working with a client, “insert name here” and the client owns a lingerie store. They were looking to create some visuals for their storefront. Jade shared with me the inspo pictures that Elizabeth had liked to create the design. She’s looking for a sketchy/watercolor look, high-fashion aesthetic.
The issue that both Jade and I ran into was creating the prompt to generate imagery. Adobe Express flags any prompt that mentions lingerie, body as inappropriate. So in order to combat this problem, I searched online and was able to gather images from there. Meanwhile, Jade found out that by substituting lingerie with bathing suits, the prompt was able to go through. In the end, I had created 36 images that included different styles of lingerie and colors. Jade then used these images to create multiple mockups for different body types. Then it gets sent to the client for approval.

For the second assignment, I was tasked to update Elizabeth Sutton’s press kit. Basically, the press kit holds every single article that mentions Elizabeth and her work. So the article I had to work on was “The Party Never Stops for Patrick McMullan | New York Social Diary“. Part of the task was to gather pictures that feature Elizabeth as well as clippings from the article that mention her name. From there, I had to create a layout that had to be approved by Jade. The catch with this assignment is to create a hyperlink so that it links to the actual link. The issue wasn’t making the hyperlink; it was ensuring that all hyperlinks worked in the PDF file created when packaging the InDesign file. I found out that when you export a file as an interactive PDF file, the links can be accessed. However, another part of my frustration with this task was being told that links were missing even though I never touched any links apart from the one I had created. Also, some links were linked to URLs that no longer exist. So, I had to communicate this issue with Jade.

On November 10th, I was tasked once again to update Elizabeth Sutton’s press kit, but this time, work on two layouts. Jade emphasized that everything needed to be aligned with one another.
I’m trying to add more details to make the layout look more “professional”. I really like how I did the phone mockup for the Instagram post. It took a little time to get right, but I’m happy with how it turned out.
For my first day at the internship, I was in charge of two tasks. The first task required me to research all about becoming a Shutterstock contributor for Elizabeth Sutton. I had to first create the account and, from there, gather all the necessary information for becoming a contributor, including what to do and what not to do, revenue, etc. This information was gathered and organized into a Google document and uploaded to their master drive. At the end of the day, I had a one-on-one with Elizabeth to summarize all of the information I had gathered.

My second task was to start gathering images to be used for recipe blog posts. Based on the images that Jade provided for me, I had to generate ingredients separated for each recipe using AI. There are a total of 9 recipes. At first, I thought this task was easy to complete. However, since AI is not exactly perfect, I had to then edit some by hand. Unfortunately, Elizabeth was not happy with the progress I made and told me I need to be more productive next time. I will admit that this made me feel down, but at the same time, I’ve never tried to generate imagery with AI before. (9/17/25)
My second day at the internship went better. I did start off a little slow due to formatting the layout for the blog post. The images for each recipe follow the same layout. The problem was aligning everything the same way, making sure things are centered. Once I got the layout down, I was able to lay out four of the different recipes. I communicated with Jade during the entirety of my shift. She gave me feedback on images as well as the layout as a whole. The images are from photos that were taken during a dinner party Elizabeth had recently hosted and all layouts must have a variety of imagery. One image is food mocked up on one of her plates. To add a little context, Elizabeth Sutton designs tableware: she has created custom plates and bowls. (9/22/25)
Today, for my internship, I worked remotely, the same time from 9 to 5. I continued working on the layouts for each recipe. My current workflow for this task involves me working on multiple layouts at the same time, which has helped me work faster. I only need to lay out two or more recipes and then finalize the rest. Officially, two of the recipes for the blog site have been approved by Jade. I feel accomplished today. (9/24/25)
After a few months of internship searching (June – Sept), I was able to secure an internship with the Elizabeth Sutton Collection. I had been applying mostly through CityTech’s handshake app. However, before I committed to Elizabeth Sutton Collection, I had another internship with the Museum of Urban Arts. However, this one did not work out because communication fell short on their end. Going back to the Elizabeth Sutton Collection internship, I had my first interview with Jade, who’s my supervisor. The first interview was online, about 30 minutes on Google meets. She then referred me to Elizabeth, the founder, and I immediately got accepted after discussing my portfolio. The internship is a graphic design-based position where I go in person to Elizabeth’s studio apartment(Elizabeth stated that eventually would switch to an art gallery location) and work from 9-5 on Mondays and Wednesdays. My supervisor is Jade, and I will communicate with her during my shift on projects. Some of my projects entail product mockups, creating graphic assets. I officially start my internship on September 17th.
