The career I chose to participate the study in was Dental Hygiene. To go through my study I used two different sources, one being a dental practice where hygienists work and the other being YouTube. YouTube videos helped me see a lot of interesting facts and even a lot of emotion! Many dental hygiene students have created vlogs that are full of emotion and even positive support for people who are in school and considering Hygiene. One of my favorite YouTubers names Taja Ferjuste creates these amazing videos that show her road to where she is now, which I find to be amazing! On the other hand, by visiting the dental practice I got to interview and shadow a hygienist, she helped me to understand the core fundamentals of the job itself. She introduced me to ways I could make this job fit my lifestyle and how I could manage myself while working. We also spoke about annual salary, hourly wages over time and how they may be different in different locations even in New York City. Overall from both of these experiences, Dental Hygiene for me is still a very wise option that I would consider.
