    36 HOURS IN JAMAICA

    http://www.funtoursjamaica.com
There is more to Jamaica than reggae, Rastafarians and honeymooners. Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean. It is the largest English-speaking country in the Caribbean, and has a population of 2,721,000. Jamaica was inhabited by the Arawak Indians who are also known as Tainos. However, fringed with white sand beaches, the island has year round sunshine, misty mountains, a lush rainforest, and awesome coffee. Partygoers gravitate to Montego Bay with its colonial architecture, bars and nightclubs. At one of its many parishes, cruise ships docks at Ocho Rios for its golf course and water park. In addition, the capital Kingston is an edgy contrast.
    MONDAY
    10:00 AM ARRIVE IN JAMAICA
As I arrived in the island of Jamaica, I was exhausted from flying. This is because whenever I fly I get really tired. And all I wanted to do, was to fall asleep. However, whenever I visits Jamaica, I usually stayed at my Aunt’s house. I chose this place because it has a huge backyard, with many different trees, flowers, animals and a river at the back. Whenever I would go there, I’d have my own room and privacy. I guess it’s just as staying at a hotel, except cheaper.
    12:00 PM LUNCH
As it reaches noon time, it was time for lunch. This is actually the legal time in Jamaica when people have lunch. For lunch I went to a close by restaurant where they serve a variety of dishes such as oxtail, jerk chicken, fish jerk pork, and Jamaica’s national dish ackee and salt fish. However, for my lunch I had escovitch fish with provision. I chose this dish because its spicy, and I love spicy food.
    2:00 PM ACTIVITY
In Jamaica, there are so many things you can do when it comes to activity. So the activity I did at 2.00 pm was laying down in grass, and take in some sun. Apparently the sun is not too hot at this time, and I found it to be more relaxing.
    4:00 PM ACTIVITY
For my next activity, I went horseback riding. The best part about going to Jamaica and staying in the country area is that, they have a lot of horses. My Aunt has a total of six-teen horses on her farm. For me horseback riding is fun because, I love horses. I think they are one of the few gods made creatures that understand humans, and vice-versa.
    7:00 PM DINNER
One of my favorite time of the day is dinner time. For dinner, I visited a new restaurant three street down from my Aunt’s house. I’ve heard good reviews about it from neighbors, and thought I should give it a try. And I did. I was accompanied by my high school friend who has never been to Jamaica. However, for dinner I had oxtail with rice and red beans, and my friend had jerk pork with rice and red beans. This was a delicious meal. It is said that only Jamaicans make the best oxtail, so far I’m not disappointed.
    9:00 PM ACTIVITY
As its close to dawn, I went to beach side with my friend, and we had a campfire. We only sat on the sand and listen to the waves coming in and going out. It has a peaceful rhythm that makes you feel relax.
    TUSEDAY
    9:00 AM
On Tuesday, it was an excited day because we had a lot planned. But first at this time, it was time for breakfast. Jamaicans are known to eat heavy breakfast. For my breakfast, I had ackee and salt fish with fry dumplings, fry ripe plantains, and a cup of Jamaica’s finest blue mountain coffee.
    11:00 AM ACTIVITY
At this time during my trip, I am getting ready to go Ocho Rios. Another major parish in Jamaica. Ocho Rios is a tourist attraction. It is fill with beautiful beaches land climbs, and of course good food. At Ocho Rios, I climbed the dun’s river –fall. This is my favorite because while climbing up those rocks, heavy water is pouring down heavily which makes it slippery, and difficult to climb. One I reach the top; the water was freezing cold. So I had to hurry and climb back down to the sea side where the water is warmer.
    1:00 PM LUNCH
After having an adventurous but not ending day, it was time to get something to eat. Now at 12:00 PM, Jamaicans usually eat lunch, but because I was having the time of my life, I forget about food. Which does not happen frequently because I am a foody. However, for lunch I had jerk chicken and bread.
    2:00 PM ACITIVITY
At this time, we were still at Ocho Rios having the time of our lives. Right through the day, they have entertainment. My friend and I went to this concert series where we meet Jamaican Entertainer Shaggy. It was a thrilling experience. I love his music, and for some time, we spent the next hour engaging with the crowd.
    4:00 ACTIVITY
At this time, we were beginning to wrap things up because we had a long ride back home. It’s an estimated two-and a half hour commute from Ocho Rios.
    8:00 PM DINNER
So for our final night, and dinner hour, we had a lot to eat. My plate was fill with different types of food. It was Jamaican delicious. I had roast fish with stuff callaloo and okra. I also had spicy jerk pork for the last time, and after that I had to wash it down with peanut punch. After these dishes I was stuff. My time in Jamaica was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend it for vacation, and I would do it again.

10:00 am – We arrive in Miami, South Beach Plaza Hotel. It is blazing hot and I am very exhausted from getting no sleep on the plane. But my friend is exhausted from the heat. Once we go in the hotel I take a little nap and my friend went and walked around South Beach.

12:00 pm – For brunch we go to Wet Willies and had a margarita or two, we sat on the roof top and observed the Miami life from above discussing our future plans for our remaining vacation time.

2:00 pm – We go walking around Collins avenue, and ocean drive familiarizing ourselves with the location. We try to find deals on getting into clubs and v.i.p for a cheap price. Things fo us to do while in Miami.
4:00 pm – We go hangout and play around at the beach and enjoy Miami beach life. We set up a little table with some snacks and tanned and slept on the beach.

7:00 pm – We go to our hotel shower and relax for about an hour.We then get hungry and went to a nearby bar who had the best philly cheese steaks around. We ate some really good fries and my friend had their churrascarro sandwich that was delicious!
9:00 pm – Me and my friend start getting ready to go to the club. It is going to be my birthday in 3 hours so we made sure we looked nice. We went to a lounge for the night called Set. It was pretty inside, yet very dim, it was a lounge where we sat at v.i.p and drinks, drinks and more drinks. We danced and celebrated my bday all night long. We get sick after but isn’t that the point of having a good time.

9:00 am – I wake up to an edible arrangement my family sent me from home. We are still dead from the night before, but somehow, I managed to go downstairs and catch hotels breakfast, which wasn’t all that great. It was pre-made muffins bagels and cereal nothing out of the ordinary. The hotel staff seemed nice but I wouldn’t recommend going there with a family. Its amenities are also not very beneficial.

11:00 am – We decided to go to the mall and shop, look around and see how shopping life in Miami was. It was pretty much the same just more tourists. Everyone seemed pretty laid back all the staff we experienced were nice.

1:00 pm – We go to one of the restaurants on Collins avenue called “ipaparazzi”, it was basically cheap good food. The staff was pleasant. Also, they really push you to get drink deals but that’s how most Collins avenue restaurants are. We had such a good time sitting inside the lightly air conditioned eatery.

2:00 pm – We decided to rent a three-wheeler. It seemed as if everyone in Miami beach had one. I thought it looked so fun, so of course I rented one. I rode around the beach with it. I was so scared at first but then I got used to it and It became easier. I really had so much fun. The guys who we rented it from made sure we wanted those exact bikes, they let us test drive them which I really didn’t expect.

4:00 pm – I got a call from one of my friends who was also In Miami, telling us to meet him at the Chesterfield hotel. There was a big pool party going on. Everyone in the water, good music playing, and drinks being served we loved it. I recommend going to Miami for a nice 4-day weekend. It is a party life city.

8:00 pm – For dinner we go to a quick stop Burger place called Burger-Fi. Again the staff seemed very friendly. It took me a while to decide which choices because they had so many. I finally go with an “Breakfast all day” Burger. It consists of hash browns, eggs, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. That burger was so good. It was a big burger and I finished it within 5 minutes.
