    Parks in the United States were formed to provide a space for people to relax and build relationships with those living in the same area as them. They also provide a place for physical exercise and playgrounds for children to play and make new friends. Commercial recreation areas are especially interesting to visitors because they are often made up of a piece of land that showcases local wilderness and offers fun outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing. Another hugely popular type of recreational area is a theme park. There are hundreds in the US, with the most famous being Disneyland and Disneyworld. Other types include zoos, aquariums, historic monuments, and museums. There are also clubs where people may meet others with similar interests and backgrounds can socialize.

    Recreations, Attractions, and Clubs

    The term recreation is the refreshment of the mind and body through relaxation. One type of recreational process is called bonding (activities done for enjoyment). The term leisure is defined as freedom from demands of work or duty. In 1916, National Parks Services were founded by the Congress. Currently there are more than 397 National Parks. Two types of attractions are Recreation management (Began during the 1920s and 1930s which were provided as a community service) and Commercial recreation (Also referred to as ecotourism or adventure tourism which offered visitors activities to areas alongside with a guide). Theme parks started during the 1920s as well. One of the most popular theme park in the United States is Walt Disney World since 1971. Another theme park, one of the largest to be precise is Universal Studios Hollywood. Four well-known regional theme parks are Dollywood, LegoLand, GatorLand and Wet n’ Wild. There are also animal attractions and aquariums which provide people of all ages an entertaining yet educational experiences. Historic places such as the Seven Wonders of the ancient world are now referred to as heritage tourism. Managing attractions are tough but as managing any business small or big, managers have four responsibilities, to plan, organize, make decisions and have control.

    Chapter 10 Summary

    Attractions such as national parks is a way get family together; they could live two blocks down or live on the other side of county but they always bring attention. For these national parks to happen, the government needs to provide. How? By raising revenue from income taxes, sales taxes and property tax. Theme parks and attractions go according to a theme, it could be cultural or geographical. There’s so many attractions where visitors can choose from. There’s Epcot, universal studios, Hershey’s,. Lego Land, and much more. Other’s prefer to go to historical places, such as the seven wonders of the world. Managing a attraction is not easy, it consists of planning, organizing, decision making, and controlling

    National theme parks and Public Park events are very good for tourist and people in the area to have fun. It brings attention to the area and it many people love to enjoy themselves. This can improve the economy with taxes and property taxes. A celebrity creating a concert in Madison Square Garden would provide so much money for the company, celebrity, and the taxes. With these events it lets people interact with each other and give them a great experience they can remember. Walt Disney has their amusement park and let younger children experience their childhood fairytales and favorite cartoon character. This gives them the experience and joy while helping the company, government with the economy.

    In chapter ten, we focused on Recreation, Leisure, and Wellness. The word recreation is defined as the use of time for therapeutic refreshment of one’s body or mind. This process allows everyone to build a rapport. Leisure can be defined as, a time to have fun from any obligations. For anyone who is a tourist, one of the main attraction are National theme parks, and public parks. In 1916, the National Park Services was founded by congress. In addition, this is another way of making economy better.

National theme parks and public park events are very good to get people to have fun. Attraction such as parks is a way to get family and friends together. In addition, to keep these national parks, the government needs to provide by raising revenue from income taxes, sales taxes and property tax. Theme park like Walt Disney, it always give a good experience to our kids. They enjoy their childhood by meeting their favorite character that they seen in the cartoon. And for the senior they can go to golf club and play some golf. All these attraction can help the economy for a country.

    Chapter 10 was about Recreation, clubs, and attractions. Examples of noncommercial recreation would include, governmental or non profit organizations. Voluntary organizations,campus, and armed forces serve as maples of this type of recreation. Personal recreational goals are important as business goals, a fact that a person sets and strives to the achievement of them is a display of good organization. Recreation is all about creating a balance, a harmony in life that will maintain wellness and wholeness bonding is the increased interpersonal feelings for friends or business associates, as a result of recreational pursuit is common the word recreation is used for time and a mannered design for therapeutic refreshment for one’s body and mind.National parks is a good example of an attempt to preserve exceptional lands and their ecosystems for public use. Emphasis is placed on the danger of losing such place and their endangered plants and animals survival. The united states is said to contain 397 parks in total and some of the best examples of this type of recreation is displayed in both Yosemite and Yellowstone National park.

Another very notable visionary the chapter depicts is a twenty one year old walt disney, and the beginning of what would be one of the greatest recreational parks known today. According to Walt Disney, Disneyland really began when his daughters where both really young, he would take them to the merry-go-round on Saturday’s as a ritual of a father daughter day. “I would take them to the merry-go-round and sit on a bench eating peanuts while the rode alone. And sitting there alone i felt there should be something built, some sort of family park where parents and adults could have fun together.” This original dream was far from an easy one to bring to reality. Changes after some time from film to real estate a number of trials, unexpected circumstances, and growing-pains would cause it to be a long process. However since those early days Disneyland has become something of an icon to american culture, due to Disney’s phenomenal success. Even through to his death the legacy carries on though numerous, theme parks Walt Disney world being composed of four – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood studios; more than 100 attractions,23 resorts, spectacular night-time entertainment,vast number of shopping dining and recreational activities covering the thousand acres of land. Walt disney pushed well beyond the ideas of what a theme or recreational park was. The chapter also goes on to describe a number of other Theme parks and attractions as well as what is consider to be and attraction.
    At it’s core though manage an one of these parks is in fact a business that must be well maintained in order to keep it all running. A great deal of planning, forecasting, organization, decision making, and controlling are all needed to keep both the quality in service and the product at the highest level. Coming down to revenue minus expenses equals net profit.

    Chapter 10 is about Recreation, Attractions and clubs. Recreation allow you to have fun and build memories and relationships while having a good experience. National parks service  was found in 1916 by congress, the current roster of 367 area covers more than 80 million acres of land with 300 million visiting each year. For your attractions you have all types of Theme parks historical, culture, geographical and even animal attractions like the zoo which has over 150 million visitors yearly. The club needs to have a good structure and depending on the type of Club it can be like second home but with diverse facilities and staff. Club management is similar to the hotel management the main different is the club does not offer sleeping accommodation

    The word “recreation” is defined as the use of time for refreshment of one’s body or mind. Leisure is defined as free time off from work. Recreation management came of age in the 1920’s and 1930’s when recreation and social programs were offered as community service. Commercial recreation gives residents and visitors access to an area’s wilderness through many outdoor activities. Theme parks began with Knott’s Berry Farms, which during the 1920’s in Buena Park, California, Knott’s Berry Farm was a berry farm and a tearoom. The business grew and different attractions were added to the site. Presently, Cedar Fair Entertainment Corporation owns Knott’s Berry Farms.
    Theme parks and attractions all depend on the theme that could be historical, cultural, geographical, etc. There are many theme parks located in the United States. In 1923, a man named Walt Disney was only 21 years old when he reached Los Angeles from Kansas City to start a new business. Walt Disney also introduced the character Mickey Mouse since November 18, 1928. Another attraction such as zoos has 150 million people to come every year within the U.S. The first zoo in the United States was the Philadelphia Zoo, built in 1859. Historic places, sites, and museums are part of what is called heritage tourism. The first sites visited in recorded history were the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, which included, The Great Pyramid of Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, The Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
