Baccalaureate Degree Nursing

I feel the process of attaining my Baccalaureate degree has made me a more well rounded nurse.  My assessment skills have sharpened thru taking some of the classes in the program.  My understanding of HCAPS, a hospital satisfaction survey that patient’s take and the government uses to decide on the amount of reimbursement a hospital will receive, was established in the BSN program.  Within the program I was paired with a nurse manager and shadowed her for a complete semester, I was able to gain a deep understanding of what a manager does and how a hospital functions.  The program has allowed me the ability to better see the position I play in the hospital as a care provider as a whole, the other optional positions available for me in the hospital and to know the other roles that nurses can play outside of the hospital setting.
