My philosophy is this: We should live our lives doing whatever makes us happy without infringing on the happiness of others, unless agreed upon, to each his/her own. Be open-minded enough to realize not everyone has the same vision of happiness and it’s not our place to interfere as long as the individuals are of sound mind. Now as far as it comes to nursing my philosophy of care is that: we should always provide adequate and competent care to the degree at which the patient receiving the care would like. In other words follow the platinum rule: do unto others, as others would have you do unto them. The relationship between a nurse and their patient should be one of mutual trust and respect.
