Course description:

Product Development in Fashion introduces the processes involved in developing apparel products from concept to consumer. The course explores how research, trend analysis, consumer behavior, and social, political, and economic influences shape fashion product development and garment design. Students learn the stages of the product development cycle, including line development, fabrication selection, sizing and fit specifications, quality control, and costing. Through research projects, group collaboration, and presentations, students gain practical experience analyzing market trends and developing apparel product concepts for specific target markets.
