Contemporary Designers and the Luxury Market examines the aesthetics and creative contributions of major fashion designers from the nineteenth through the twenty-first century. Through lectures, class discussions, research projects, and presentations, students analyze influential designers and their impact on the evolution of luxury fashion. The course explores how historical fashion movements and designer innovations influence contemporary apparel design and branding. Students study key figures such as Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Virgil Abloh while developing critical thinking skills related to fashion history, design analysis, and the luxury market.
