Spring

Spring

For this assignment was a challenge. It was still cold in New York City, so they weren’t flowers popping out or not much green. Going to the park and still seeing trees around with no leafs. But people where outside on sunny days but still pretty cold. I saw many eggs around the park, thinking hey its almost Easter, Making me think of spring, so why not. 13548259383_7abfb19fae_m

Midterm

Midterm

For the midterm I wanted to used a Starbucks cup, but it looked pretty boring to photograph. So I drew on it, give it a little flavor to the design. I had pretty fun with this assignment, placing the same object in different backgrounds. In the studio, playing the lighting it gave me pretty nice images have them in black and white. Being outside and using the natural light (the sun) gave me ideas of what the background should be. Not far from school, is the Brooklyn bridge park so why not have in the background have the city of New York.                                                                                                                                               13235179063_2a19c9afda_m 13234750305_9e941d79a4_m

Buy me

Walking macys and what do you mostly see? Perfumes. that what the first thing I thought of. So I found this small bottle of calvin klein. It doesn’t show in the photos but I like to think that how ads are. tricking people in buying the bottle only to see it very small in person. 12920607804_7ccbbe131a_m

childhood

for this assignment, I had tons of toys to pick from (having a younger sister does help) but I had trouble with lighting to change the mood. so most of my photos show more joyful moods. Not that I didn’t like it, just that it gets pretty boring. in the end its about being child, and how a child views the world. 12764164903_3a7853311b_m

rose

for this assignment, I had so many options with a rose. I could use the rose to represent happiness and joyful, love. or represent the opposite. So many ideas came to mind so I went with both. I remember not liking how the photos came out so I kept trying to get the photos “right” at the end of the day, I was still not pleased with the work that came out, but I don’t think they are that bad either. I like to think I tried to show the world what I see when it comes to “love” and it pretty complicated.IMG_0634

shoe

Shoe

for this assignment, I chose to photograph a soccer. I like this shoe because of the colors and the overall the design. all black on top with blue and pink on the bottom, to make it more stand out. With the huge Nike swoosh in the middle. I had pretty fun with photo shoot. Playing around with the lights on different angles gave me great photos in the end. 12420560785_7e0d59cdd4_s

Location – Early Evening

For the third and final part of the location photo shoot I took pictures at the train station during late afternoon/early evening. After I arrived I was very shocked to learn that there is construction on one half of the entire station and that that half of the station will be closed until August! I took mostly pictures of the construction but I also took a few pictures from inside the train. The train passes by all of these graffitied walls as it makes its descent underground but unfortunately they were all blurry because the train was moving and I did not have enough time to adjust my camera. However, I did get a really interesting shot of one of the railway signals but the focus of the camera is on the dirt on the window:

This was definitely my favorite photo from the last photo shoot because of the blurry train signal and the red light that stands out.

Location: Astoria Park (Night)

I was really excited about shooting at night because the whole view from Astoria Park towards Manhattan is just amazing. The only problem was that I was afraid my photograph would look noisy. When I took pictures some turned out well, but they were not as good as the daylight ones. When I was taking pictures, the constant flares of the lamps or bridge lights became a little distracting to the overall image! I like how the images turned out, but I wish they were a bit better.

Location : Astoria Park (Morning)

In the final project, when I did morning I was having trouble because it was just so sunny and the flares of the sun didn’t allow to get a good picture of some perspective of Astoria Park. I would go towards the shade and constantly switch the ISO so it wouldn’t look to dark or too bright. When I was in the sun, it was hard to tell if the image was too dark from my camera screen. Those where probably the only situations I had to deal with in one period of the day.

Final Project

for the this Project, I thought that it was interesting to see that even thought it was the same place it had different colors and smells on different days. I went when it was it was raining (Just finished raining), cloudy and at the sunset. I loved the sunset pictures, because it was nice to see the yellow/orange and red colors that the sun made while going down. Also the raining pictures. One of the pictures shows water on the floor, looking like a puddle. I liked the picture because the puddle looked clear almost like a mirror and also like another dimensional door. The cloudy day was okay. It wasn’t a lot of activity on the park and while I was walking trough the park I didn’t hear any insects or birds around, so that got me a bit scared ha-ha. But it was nice to see different phases of the park in a little amount of time.
