This is my modular form project:

I had the inspiration to make this tower based on the concept of cutting out paper dolls. The repeating shape that connected each unit together felt like an interesting idea to turn into a 3d sculpture. I wanted how the simplest shapes could create a more complex looking design which was done with the letter “X”. The material is made out of colored card stock and each cube is approximately 3 inches high. In total, that would mean the tower is about 18in tall in height. Overall, it was fun to make, although tedious at times due to the repetitive nature of modular forms.

Unit- “X” makes up each cube and each cube makes up the tower.
