The material in Section 5.3 (Second Order Linear Nonhomogeneous) will not be included in Exam 2 — I have eliminated 2 problems from the Review Sheet accordingly.
Also, I understand that a number of students have a big exam on Tuesday 3/26/24. Because of this, I have adjusted the the due date of the WeBWorK assignment Second Order Linear Homogeneous Constant Coefficient – Basic from the night before to the night after (it is now due on 3/27 instead of 3/25).
Best of luck in your work and studying,
Prof. Reitz

Hi everyone,
Our first exam will take place during class on Wednesday, 2/28/24.
NOTE: This is a change from the original scheduled date of the first exam, which was 2/26/24.
Exam Date: Wednesday, 2/28/24
Exam Time: During class, 11:30am-12:45pm
Review: The review sheet is posted here (solutions can be found following the problems on the review sheet). This will not be collected – it is for your practice only.
Best of luck with your studying!
Prof. Reitz
Hi everyone,
I took another look at this assignment, and it seems that none of the problems are homogeneous (not a big surprise, given the title). Because of this, you are not expected to complete any of the problems until we discuss nonhomogeneous equations in our next class. I have therefore given you more time to work on this — the due date is now Wednesday, February 14th (since we do not have class on Monday 2/12).
All the best,
Prof. Reitz
