Abstract: The OG Team will give a brief introduction to STEM applications and show examples of work by last year’s OG fellows. Fellows will start working on their STEM Application Template.

11:40 am         Using DESMOS in the Classroom

 Presenters: Suman Ganguli, Ariane Masuda and Lucie Mingla from the Opening Gateways Team

Abstract: Desmos (https://www.desmos.com/calculator) is a free online graphing calculator. Desmos includes all the capabilities of a traditional graphing calculator, but also has additional features that makes it a more useful tool for both students and instructors, including the ability to create and share classroom activities (cf https://teacher.desmos.com/).  We will give a short introduction to Desmos and present some of the activities we have used in MAT1275.
