EXploratory Paper Submission

Exploratory Paper

Three topics:

  1. Deforestation
  2. Drug addiction within teens in rural/urban areas
  3. Embedded Journalism

While writing this paper, I experinced many difficulties. I feel like this was the most frustsrating thing I have had to do over my weekend, due to the difficulty of sticking to my topics, trying to find the correct and vaild sources, and also trying to choose one speficic topic to pursue. I was also preoccupied with my other work from my other classes so it felt a little overwhelming to research three different topics, isolate Sources, and then construct an introduction, body, and conclsuon out of my findings. Nonetheless I did fine some very interesting infromation within my frustarted research using JSTOR and EBSCO, along with the lirbray database. I learned many newthings about my topics. However, I have chosen to pursue the topic about drug addcition because it is a topic that I am familir with and I feel like I can write a good paper on it.

I feel as though you wrote a good paper despite having a hard time finding sources. I love the grammar and flow of the paper. I also enjoyed the “environmentalist” approach when talking about deforestation. I think we are so programmed into catering to our own selfish desires that we forget about the planet. We are literally killing ourselves. Damage to the atmosphere is damage to ourselves since we depend highly on natural resources–trees being one of the main sources of our life. Thank you for bringing that issue to the forefront.

  2. Your transition from one topic to the next was well done. I like how much you expressed your opinion through out your paper. I also like how you pointed out there were so little articles about the embedded journalism topic. It makes you question if there are many more articles but some are being blocked or withheld because of the military contracts.

  3. I love the topics that you chose also your method of researching using documentaries instead of articles. I also agree that these issues don’t get as much recognition as they should and if they do there’s not enough problem solving involved. Great job on this paper.
