We just finalized the schedule and list of presenters for tomorrow, the selected presentations. All these presenters have just confirmed their availability. As stated before, it is always a difficult process to select only few presenters.
If you devoted yourself to your culmination project throughout the semester, even if you are not presenting tomorrow, you may still receive a good grade. This was stated before as well.
Here is the presentation info.:

All ENT 4499 students from all sections are encourage to attend the zoom session. We also plan to live stream on YouTube (TBD). But most likely, we can accept questions from the zoom audience only due to the time restrictions.
Thank you,
Ryoya

ePortfolio
To pass ENT 4499, in addition to finalize your project and give your presentation, you must also complete your ePortfolio by the end of Monday, December 13th.
Please read the submission requirements of ePortfolio. It is required to include your “project reflection” as well. Here is the info.:

Selected Presentations
As announced in class before, and also as written in the course syllabus, this semester’s selected presentations will take place virtually on Thursday, December 16th between 2:30 pm and 4 pm. The list of presenters will be announced either Tuesday the 14th or Wednesday the 15th as soon as all the three sections of the course finish their in-class presentations. We tend to choose students from different disciplines, and only few people will be selected. Therefore, it is possible that you may receive a good grade even if you are not among the selected presenters.
Hopefully, most of you if not all of you will be available to either present or to be in the audience as the date/time was announced already at the beginning of the semester.
This is important: When all the in-class presentations are done, on Monday the 13th, the department will have to decide who will be among the selected presenters immediately. If you already know that you will not be available for the time of the selected presentations, you need to inform your instructor soon (Monday section – Prof. Terao, Tuesday- Prof. Wilson, Thursday – Prof. Giovannetti).
If you are selected, you just need to give your presentation for the second time, and it will be for the entire department.
All the best.

Presentation:
You must create a poster, which will be archived on OpenLab. During your presentation, however, your poster should not be part of it. Instead, please prepare a slide show, so that it will be easy for your audience to follow your talk.
Structure a good 10 min. presentation, think of what is important to include to discuss your achievements and challenges, which you overcame. Then, rehearse it out loud. Get some feedback from your friends or family. Ask them to be critical. If there is time, after you think you are fully prepared, you can inquire your technical advisor whether they have time to go over your presentation scheme!
In ENT 4499, you will be graded by the entire department of faculy/staff. Your project will be examined based on your proposal, process, and achievements. Therefore, presenting the “process” is as important as the final product.
Reminder: What You Need to Have on Your ePortfolio for Evaluation:

Game/Film Students:
We recommend that you playback your project from 30 seconds to 1 minute during your presentation without explaining much. But, please don’t keep playing it throughout your presentation. You would look unprepared. Film Projects Students:

November 7th, 2021
Hope you are well.
1, As you know, there was a time change this weekend, and so make sure to attend all of your classes at the appropriate time!
2. If your project is 85 – 90% done by Thanksgiving, it is a good sign. Before you give your presentation, however, your technical advisor must approve of the completion of your project. You can’t present what you think is complete. In this course, the process is very important, including your communication with your advisor(s).
3. We need to decide your presentation schedule. The presentation will be during the 13th and 14th sessions, the regular class time period.
Best!

For students who are producing short films:
If you are producing a short film, you need to meet with your technical advisor to go over your progress until right before you present at the end of the semester: You can’t just submit/present what you think is complete before your presentation. Here is the additional rule for the video students:
After the approval of your finished film, you must upload your project online such as Vimeo or YouTube . Then, at least 48 hours before your presentation, you need to send out an e-mail to all faculty in the department, introducing yourself, describing what your film is about (and how long it is), and ask the faculty to watch it before your presentation. This way, whoever attends your presentation will have watched your film. In addition, during your 10 min. presentation, you can include up to 30 seconds of a clip from your film.
How do you find out all faculty’s e-mail addresses? Here is the info.:
Full time faculty: https://citytech.cuny.edu/entertainment/faculty.aspx
Part time faculty: https://citytech.cuny.edu/entertainment/faculty.aspx
Full time staff: https://citytech.cuny.edu/entertainment/faculty.aspx

ENT 4499 Students,
This is a good time to start uploading on your ePortfolio all the documents, which are ready such as your proposal, schedule, budget, and so on. We suggest that you visit the OpenLab group from last year:
https://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/groups/ent-4499-culmination-project-fa-2020-sp-2021/
It is good to learn what recent culmination students worked on, and how their ePortfolios look!

September 15, 2021
This is around the time that you meet with your technical advisor for the first of three required meetings. That is, after your proposal is approved. Before the approval, no matter how many times you meet with your technical advisor, it doesn’t count as any of the three required meetings. Be careful.
This is also the time that you are starting to make some great progress. Remember, one semester goes by quickly, and this is the course that you prove yourself what you have learned and what you can achieve. Unlike most other courses, you take time to work on one project. No culmination project should be just put together quickly. It is also important that you enjoy working on your own project, which you chose to do!

It is very important that you use your actual name for your ePortfolio. Otherwise, ENT/MTEC faculty will not be able to evaluate your documents. Everything that you post for this course matters for your grade. Thank you.
