Bio

I’m Ruchoma, the resident nursing student on the OpenLab Student Community Team. Part of my goal in blogging on The Buzz, is to make the OpenLab an online space where they can come to not only participate in classes and socialize. I hope that by reading my blog posts every week-and-a-half, students will learn some hints to making the most out of their time in City Tech. The OpenLab is a very powerful tool, that has the capacity to be used to improve students’ participation in all aspects of their experience. It is an all encompassing college meeting place, where they can participate in classwork, create, join or participate in a project, socialize with others in the college community, as well as prepare for the future by creating their ePortfolio. I hope that through promotion of this powerful tool as well as some other hints that I have for students, we will be able to create the next generation of academics, professionals, and otherwise successful individuals.

Don’t Let Students Get Caught in the Bully’s Web

We, the members of this project, are united in our goal to give the school system more power to intervene in case of cyber-bullying to prevent the horrible tragedies that have occurred as a result of cyber bullying. We hope to raise awareness to the general public as well as to academic professionals about the horrors that we have heard of and bring a change to students’ lives
