This article is a follow up of the other article I posted before. It talks about how Chenin Blancs are not what they used to be five years ago.

One Response to A Wine That Isn’t What It Used To Be

That was an interesting read. And just as the tasters were left speculating, I too got into speculation. Could it be that the tasters have changed during the five year period, could it be the quality controllers who have changed, could it be a bumper vintage, could it be the corking from cork to screw-top, or could it be the change in Wine & Spirit Board of South Africa, “which verifies that the claims made on the label regarding origin, vintage and grape variety are true. From the 2010 vintage, a new seal for South African wines was introduced, which traces the wine from vine to bottle. The seal is a world first, and certifies a wine’s integrity as well as sustainability.”
    I too was left speculating.
