    Project AHEAD

Project Asian Health Education and Development is an 8-week long summer internship designed to give training and experience to college students who have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. Students will be exposed to various health careers, and gain an understanding of the history and dynamics of the New York Asian American community and of current health issues impacting the health status of Asian Americans in the United States. Interns will have the opportunity to create and implement a community health project, attend seminars and workshops and to shadow healthcare professionals.

Program requirements include currently an undergraduate student, interest in healthcare and the Asian American community, and committed to working full-time, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., including some early mornings and weekends. We cannot accommodate international students or students who are studying temporarily in the United States with the intention of returning home after completing their studies. Online applications will be available November 2014 for the 2015 summer program. Please contact Maria Karlya at mkarlya@cbwchc.org for more information.
